Synopsis

A steganography system helps to conceal secret information such as text inside a trusted currier such as an image. This book provides a special technique to embed information into an image that is impalpable and undetected by intruders. The method is able to withstand any kind of attack, such as chi-square and HVS attacks. The method elaborated important criteria in the steganography system that increase the complexity of the system's security, increase the imperceptibility of the stego image, and provides a high capacity for the secret message. Three main steps are outlined which are 1) a preprocessing step for preparing a given image (original image) and a secret message before embedding, 2) a pixel selection method for embedding, and 3) embedding secret messages in selected pixels with evaluation. Two main processes are also highlighted. The first process is to compress the secret message with the Huffman coding algorithm to reduce the amount of data embedded in the image, which means increase the capacity of the steganography system by eliminating the redundant characters in the secret message. And also, this procedure increases the robustness of the system, making this decomposition format very difficult to understanding by an attacker. The second process is converting the binary system of the image pixels logically into a Fibonacci decomposition and transfer the 8 bits (for each pixel) into 12 bits. This process gives a good robustness to the proposed system. Two famous evaluation parameters are presented, namely, chi-square(X2) and HVS attacks. The (X2) attack works based on statistical issues, and the frequencies of LSBs of stego image are checked to see how normalized are the bits inside.
