The book consists of seven chapters, the first chapter introduce the readers to the basic knowledge of Islamic finance concepts and principles. At the end of the chapter, reader should be able to identify the types and features of Shari’ah contracts used in Islamic Finance and the essentials elements (rukun) and conditions of Syari’ah contracts used in Islamic Finance. Second chapter will expose the reader with the variety of institutions and market in Malaysia Islamic financial system. The core chapter of the book lies in Chapter 3 as if using Islamic finance or even regulating it, requires a thorough understanding of concepts that underlie the industry, in this case the Islamic code of law, the Syariah. Chapter 4 will introduce the reader with the various instruments and products under different categories of market, namely Islamic capital market (ICM), Islamic Money Market (IMM) and Islamic Banking (IB). Chapter 5 further discuss the modern financial instruments such as sukuk (Islamic bond), Islamic unit trust and Islamic derivatives, from the multiple perspectives of Shari’ah while Chapter 6 provide an overview of the regulatory framework applicable for Islamic financial services at both the national (Malaysia) and International level. The final chapter, Chapter 7, reader will be introduced with the new opportunities FinTech and emerging Halal market provide for entrepreneurs, an eye-opening chapter in this era of fourth industrial.
