This is a story about the famous Sioux warrior chief, Crazy Horse. He was killed in the custody of the U.S. Army on September 5,1877 at Fort Robinson, Nebraska. His body remains missing to this day. Stolen Shadow is a fictional account of efforts to find him. The title of the book is based on the statement of Crazy Horse who refused to be photographed. "Why would I let you steal my shadow?"
