Church choirs and church choir directors are some of the busiest people in a church on a Sunday morning. The other busiest person, the pastor of the church, is usually teaching Sunday school or doing the last minute things to prepare for worship. Very often these two worship leaders don't see each other, let alone exchange a word, until they are in worship. A Choir's Moment with God is a book of prayers for church musicians who are about to lead worship and wish to call upon God for help, to praise God, to give God thanks, and ask God to accept their offering. These prayers can be said when the pastor is unable to gather with the choir before worship for a quiet time of prayer. They are grouped by seasons of the church year. In some instances the prayers indicate the lectionary readings the prayer accompanied. Some directors of choirs and organists don't feel comfortable offering prayers on the spot but know that prayer is what they need at that moment just before they enter the worshiping space.
