Synopsis

Pursuing knowledge has been an enlightening journey for me, and I consider myself truly blessed to be able to keep learning and nurturing my mind. Embarking on a PhD has not only allowed me to deeply explore the world of academia but has also opened doors to understanding the richness and depth of Eastern perspectives on scholarship. Southeast Asian countries are abundant with invaluable knowledge traditions, and this journey has revealed to me that every source of knowledge can serve as a powerful tool to enhance our lives on multiple levels. I have learned to value literature—especially novels—as they transport us to unknown worlds we might otherwise overlook or dismiss. They have proven to be a profound source of insight as I seek to comprehend systems of power through feminist perspectives. In a world that often struggles with distorted views of feminism, novels remind us of the true essence of feminist thought. What many call ancient or outdated periods of human history have, for me, become profound sources of inspiration, vitality, and celebration. These works of knowledge transcend time and remain practical and meaningful across generations. Beyond the boundaries of language and culture, there is a shared thread of unity woven into each ancient narrative—the enduring presence of women who wielded power to transform their worlds. This book celebrates that legacy: the power of women, reimagined and envisioned as a force of empowerment.
