This book is a non-fiction narrative of men falsely claiming to be former Major League Baseball players. The book describes real events involving actual individuals whose real names have been changed to protect their identity, at the recommendation of legal counsel. This is not meant to be a documentary, and there are many other well-known, documented cases of a phenomenon the author describes as "...more widespread than you might think". The Eddie Scissons Syndrome moniker was created by W.P. Kinsella in his book, Shoeless Joe, upon which the movie Field of Dreams is based. The topic is dealt with humor, contempt, and sometimes, compassion.
