Synopsis
Cybersecurity threats have a huge impact on the increasing development of mobile device security products. Considering the critical nature of mobile devices, security is crucial due to interception and modification of data, which can lead to loss of availability, integrity, and confidentiality, as well as other losses such as loss of life, money, and assets. Thus, encryption is required for data protection, and a lightweight block cipher has been identified as a solution to this security issue in mobile devices. The encryption is more compact and requires less computing power. However, despite being lightweight, the trade-off between security and efficiency is the major problem to be solved in designing a lightweight algorithm. One should consider its type of circuit, speed, and memory consumption. Looking at this alarming situation, new solutions Light Algorithm Operation (LAO-3D) based on 3-dimensional (3D) permutation is introduced in this book to overcome security product issues in mobile applications. This book contributes to the field of cybersecurity supporting the Malaysian government’s initiatives in safeguarding the well-being of the people in line with the National Cyber Security Policy.
