This book is about three of the survivors from the Hammon flood that occurred on April 3rd and 4th in 1934. A father and his two sons, one a teenager and the other a small infant less than three years old, who became the foundation of future generations. The story told in this book is partially fiction but is largely based on true real-life accounts and historical facts. How these three managed to survive the terror from that dreadful night and the devasting after effects are miraculous to say the least. They not only had to overcome the flood and the death of a wife and mother, six daughters and sisters, but also the Great Depression, The Dust Bowl era, and eventually World War Two to survive.
