Malaysian seaports stand at the frontline of climate change. Rising sea levels and increasingly severe weather events threaten port infrastructure, disrupt operations and weaken competitiveness. At the same time, maritime and port activities contribute to environmental pressures through emissions, fossil-fuel dependence and inefficient operations. This book develops an evidence-based climate change adaptation framework tailored to Malaysian seaports. Using an exploratory sequential mixed-method design, the study combines expert interviews, grounded theory and Exploratory Factor Analysis to identify the key challenges, strategies and institutional actions required for effective adaptation. The proposed framework brings together nine strategic areas, including resilience, sustainability, green technology, risk management, financial planning, stakeholder engagement, research and development, and global cooperation. Its findings highlight two essential outcomes for future-ready ports: transition resilience and operational excellence.
