This book is based on the author's experiences as a C-130 Hercules pilot during the Vietnam war. Convincing from a technical aspect, the book describes the different feelings of the various flight crew members about their role in the conflict, where the protagonist also finds romance. The book takes place in Vietnam, Saigon, and the Philippines. This book is dedicated to the men who flew the Lockheed C-130 Hercules during the seemingly endless Vietnam War, and to other forgotten men and women who faithfully served in less publicized roles: nurses, mechanics, clerks, and a diversity of other positions that were essential to the effort. It is also dedicated to my children, Carrie and Mark, who were tiny in those war years when their father was far away from home for a very long time.
