He made his fortune in genetic engineering and nanotechnology. Several groups, business and religious, are opposed to his business, and one in particular tries to kill him. They almost succeed. He is severely wounded and his staff uses all the latest research at their disposal to save him, rebuild him. His "ace in the hole" is a powerful psychic named Sylvia Swafford, whose husband was killed in the attempt on Key's life.During his long and painful recovery Key decides to form a new company, Vigilante, Inc, which will exact revenge on his enemies and then dispense justice for hire. However, nothing goes according to plan. Xavier Key will learn that revenge is complicated.
