PPZ-MAIWP is a zakat institution that collects zakat in the Federal Territory of Malaysia. Then, Akademi Zakat (AZKA) was officially established in February 2019 by Pusat Pungutan Zakat (PPZ-MAIWP). AZKA's main purpose is to be the CENTER OF EXCELLENCE in the area of zakat, philanthropy, and social finance. The mission is carried out by conducting in-house and out-house research related to zakat, Islamic social finance, as well as, efficiency and management-related issues. Our activities include conducting forums, workshops, and webinars involving academia, zakat industry members, and communities. AZKA also published academic journals (namely AZJAF), research reports, monographs, and books relating to zakat, philanthropy, and social finances. Our objectives are: 1) ENRICHING KNOWLEDGE IN THE TOPIC OF ZAKAT & PHILANTHROPY Conducting programs includes forums, classes, workshops, colloquium or dialogue involving the academic community, zakat industry members and public 2) CONDUCTING RESEARCH ON ZAKAT Studies of specific issues based on industrial need and collaboration with other stakeholders such as universities and recognized research bodies 3) PUBLISHING RESEARCH MATERIALS Publication of journals, papers, books and research reports related to zakat, philanthropy and social finance. 4) COLLABORATION WITH VARIOUS INDUSTRIES AND ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS Strengthen partnerships with various industries and academic institutions to assist in conducting research and zakat-related activities.
