This is a collection of personal stories by 54 students from the class of Soil Mechanics & Foundations (Semester 2 Session 2021/22), Faculty of Engineering Technology, UTHM. Coming back to the university after the COVID19 global lockdown, Zero to Hero takes us on a semester-long journey of the students in learning the Course, individually told in a double section of Strategy and Self Reflection. Strategies were lain and plans were organised to learn the Course effectively in their uniquely personalised approaches (STRATEGY), which were put through self-review at the end of the semester to gauge the outcomes (SELF REFLECTION). Assessment and grades aside, the most significant outcome is but the students' rise above fears and doubts at the beginning of the semester, grappling with the learning process with utmost grit and determination, coming out of it at the end, triumphant with renewed confidence and self-awareness.

Zero to Hero: Anak Orang Miskin, Kini Anak Emas Universiti merupakan karya suntingan yang mempersembahkan kompilasi perjalanan lima Mahasiswa universiti yang telah berjaya meranggul Anugerah Pingat Emas pada peringkat Universiti. Perjalanan cerita lima anak muda yang asalnya dari latar belakang miskin amat memberangsangkan dan mampu menjadi sumber inspirasi kepada mahasiswa di luar sana. Buku ini ditulis dengan cara yang santai agar mesej dapat disampaikan kepada para pembaca dengan cara yang mudah.

Buku Modul Zero to Hero dibina berteraskan kepada eleman Kesedaran, Pemahaman, Pelaksanaan dan Pendayaupayaan yang lebih dikenali sebagai 1K3P. Buku ini turut memberi penekanan dari aspek pelaksanaan dalam bentuk pemindahan ilmu dan praktikal (kemahiran penghasilan produk, pembungkusan, penjenamaan dan keusahawanan serta pemasaran dalam bentuk atas talian). Matlamat buku ini bertujuan untuk menangani cabaran dalam pembangunan sosial, ekonomi dan alam sekitar dari aspek kemahiran inovasi produk berasaskan bahan kitar semula yang mampu menjana pendapatan dan mempunyai nilai komersial serta memacu kemajuan ekonomi bagi memenuhi keperluan rakyat dalam menangani perubahan ekonomi yang semakin mencabar. Sehubungan itu, dengan terhasilnya buku Modul Zero to Hero ini dapat menjadi salah satu panduan kepada pelatih atau masyarakat melaksanakan program penjanaan pendapatan berasaskan bahan-bahan terbuang yang mempunyai nilai komersial dan secara tidak langsung dapat mendidik masyarakat menjadi rakyat yang prihatin terhadap alam sekitar.
